Priorities

    • Bringing transparency to the county’s work and holding government departments accountable to the people they serve.

    • Spending taxpayer dollars responsibly and opening county budgets to independent audits so residents can easily see where their money is going.

    • Engaging with residents by holding town halls so members of the community can voice their concerns and engage in conversation about the issues that matter to them.

    • Coordinating with union leaders to ensure the right to unionize is protected and our workers are given fair deals and necessary protections.

    • Connecting residents with resources to start and sustain small businesses to grow our local economy.

    • Advocating for raising the minimum wage so our essential workers can afford to live in the areas they work.

    • Working with local law enforcement departments to facilitate town halls and independent audits and data sharing practices with residents

    • Addressing root causes of crime by investing in mental health resources, treatment facilities, and affordable housing

    • Creating alternative sentencing programs for juvenile offenders

    • Working with local, state and federal leaders to combat cuts to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to ensure residents are prepared for weather emergencies and natural disasters.

    • Advocating for divestment from the fossil fuel industry and bringing in jobs and training programs in green and renewable energy to ensure Williamson leads the way on a clean economy, leaving no worker behind.

    • Advocating for state and federal funding to purify our air and filter our water to remove toxic chemicals from decades of fracking and mining.

    • Increasing funding for after school programs and school lunches, providing teachers the resources they need, and working with school administrators and district leaders to ensure our children are set up for success from day one.

    • Investing in critical programs that address food insecurity, unaffordable healthcare, and rising costs of housing to combat spending cuts at the federal level that undercut residents in need.

    • Showing our seniors the respect they deserve by providing them adequate housing and care options, ensuring public spaces are fully accessible, and that our local nursing homes hire staff able to provide them the care they need.

    • Directing funds to repave outdated roads, fix up unwalkable sidewalks, and implement road control systems that reduce traffic and make it easier for residents to get where they’re going.

    • Ensuring county departments offer liveable wages and benefits so they may recruit and retain the talented staff who serve our community.

    • Equipping government workers with up to date technologies, systems, and trainings to ensure county response times meet the needs of the residents they serve.
