Meet darcy
Our communities are changing, rapidly. The 9 to 5 job, husband and wife with three kids and a white picket fence isn’t the reality for most of us – and it’s not the dream anymore. Darcy knows firsthand our experiences are all unique, and our goals personal. She’s been a musician, a single mother, a student, a social worker, an advocate and more. She’s an outsider to politics ready to tackle the challenges facing Williamson County.
Darcy was born and raised in Flora, Illinois. With a passion for music and technology, she moved to Arizona, where she studied Music Business at the Conservatory for Recording Arts and Sciences. When she realized Illinois was the only place she ever wanted to call home, she moved back to finish her degree at Southern Illinois University. There, she became involved with the United Nations Association, where she served as Secretary and President, working with leaders in Washington to advocate for humanitarian aid.
Since then, Darcy’s worked a number of jobs to make ends meet and support her family, including as a Crisis Counselor with the Illinois Department of Human Services, with MEPS at the United States Department of Defense, and as a traffic coordinator for WSIL News 3.
Darcy’s story is uniquely American – one of struggle, resilience, and determination to help others. For too long, Williamson County has been led by career politicians who abuse funds to give handouts to corporations and line their own pockets while working people are struggling to get by. Darcy has the fresh perspective to root out the corruption, create government systems that are transparent and accountable to the people they serve, and address the needs of our community head on.
